Study Chinese in Chengdu

When you think about where to study Chinese in China, the first cities that come to mind are Beijing and Shanghai. And why not? As two of the most populated cities in China, both Beijing and Shanghai are bustling hubs of international trade and commerce and have come to symbolise both China’s economic advance, as well as its more open approach to the West.

However, we’re here to tell you…There’s more to China than Beijing and Shanghai! As China has shot to prominence in the last few decades, many places that the average foreigner has never heard of – or, at best, aren’t familiar with – have also developed significantly, offering a great (and considerably cheaper) alternative to life in China outside of Beijing and Shanghai.

So allow us to introduce to you the wonderful city of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province and best known for pandas, spicy hotpot, beautiful women and a love for, let’s say, a more leisurely approach to life. Oh, and it also happens to be Mandarintern’s HQ, although you won’t find that in your Lonely Planet guide!

While the people in Chengdu like to have fun, Chengdu is also a fantastic place to settle and find serious work. The fact that over 300 of the Fortune 500 now have a base in Chengdu will give you a fair indication as to why foreigners are now increasingly flocking to Chengdu over other first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Oh, and by the way, there are 13,000,000 people here in Chengdu – finding friends won’t be a problem!

So, make Chengdu your first stop in China!

We believe that if you want to study Chinese, you should immerse yourself in Chinese language from Day One. We offer a wide range of full-time study programs, including intensive group classes, intensive one-to-one classes, and HSK training.
